The year 2026 marks the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan and is also a key turning point for the global copper industry as it enters a phase of structural shortages, deep technological changes, and a green and low-carbon transformation. Currently, global copper ore grades are continuously declining, ESG costs are high, and combined with geopolitical disruptions, the annual growth rate on the supply side is only 1.5%-2.2%, highlighting rigid constraints. At the same time, sectors such as new energy vehicles (which use 3-5 times more copper per vehicle than fuel vehicles), photovoltaic, wind power and energy storage, AI computing centers, and new power grid construction are experiencing explosive growth, with the demand side growing at an annual rate of 2.5%-3.7%, further widening the supply-demand gap. The global copper deficit is expected to reach 300,000-500,000 tons in 2026, and copper's strategic resource attributes and core industrial position are unprecedentedly strengthened. Against this backdrop, we are about to convene the 15th Copper Industry Annual Conference (CCAE 2026).
